Grow Up Great
To create a significant focus on a signature, social issue aligned with PNC’s values, employees and communities.
Research with PNC employees and their communities uncovered a desire to support children’s education.
Why? Early childhood education was proven to provide children of all backgrounds with a critical foundation for their overall educational outcomes and success in life. Research also found that early childhood education delivers a $16 return on every $1 invested.
In 2003, it was an emerging issue poised to break through with no notable corporate support. PNC leadership saw a significant opportunity to strengthen their communities through every child’s early learning and initially committed to a 10-year, $100 million investment called PNC Grow Up Great. We worked closely with PNC from issue identification to program structure, partner selection and core elements to bring this authentic commitment to life. Their satisfaction with initial outcomes has extended the initiative far beyond its initial vision helping families, teachers and others inspire a love of learning in young children.
